Far Cry 6 Giancarlo Esposito Ubisoft Forward

The Ubisoft Forward event has resulted in a number of exciting game reveals from the publisher, featuring the likes of battle royale title Hyper Scape, the ambitious new Watch Dogs Legion, as well as quite the duration of the female Eivor gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, arguably the biggest highlight was the official cinematic reveal of Far Cry 6 following a week’s worth of unconfirmed leaks surrounding the title ahead of the big event.

Shown at the tail end of Ubisoft Forward, the unveiling of Far Cry 6 took place with a stunning set of trailers, one of which debuting a stylish title sequence and another which sets up the intense story for the upcoming game. Starring famed Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian actor Giancarlo Esposito, the latter footage shows his character Anton Castillo as the unrelenting president of the fictional island of Yara, the leader teaching his son Diego a dangerous lesson in maintaining his iron-fisted regime. Check out the trailer below.

The reveal of Far Cry 6 isn’t the most surprising of revelations to come out of Ubisoft Forward, but it has proven to be one of the most memorable due to the interesting premise on display in its new trailer. Ahead of the big announcement, actor Giancarlo Esposito had already been reported to be working on the Ubisoft project, with a follow-up leak potentially revealing even more information about the then-unannounced title. While it appears that the leaked are true, fans are likely eager to see what else comes of the title in the months leading up to launch.

Far Cry 6 is set to release February 18th, 2021 for Google Stadia, PC (via Uplay, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
