EA Motive Expands To Vancouver – Now Hiring For Star Wars, Plants Vs Zombies and New IP

EA Motive Vancouver

Followers of Electronic Arts’s movements have been aware of some restructuring occurring with their studios the past year. Late last summer, EA confirmed that they would be merging BioWare with Motive Studios in Montreal. Canada certainly seems to be a booming region for gaming industry locations with Ubisoft, Square Enix and WB Games all having locations waving the maple leaf flag. Now, it seems like they only plan to further expand their foothold in the Great White North. The new EA Motive Vancouver location has been revealed, and it is already hiring for new projects.

Mitch Dyer, who worked as a writer on Star Wars Battlefront II’s story mode, has confirmed the existence of the new EA Motive Vancouver on his official Twitter account. The studio is bringing many of its creative gaming veterans to the new locations, but naturally, EA Motive Vancouver is looking for new talent to help settle their new studio facility. The official EA Motive website contains several job listings for the Vancouver office. The website specifically mentions that the studio has worked on the Plants Vs Zombie Warfare games, and that most of these new positions would involve working on the next project with that franchise.

The website and Dyer’s tweet both reference that Motive has worked on EA’s Star Wars games, so these positions would also likely lead to work on future Star Wars games as well. Most interestingly, Dyer’s tweet specifically mentions a new IP that these positions would help with. Could this new game be revealed at E3 this month? Hopefully we will know more soon, but until then, those looking for work near the beautiful British Columbian shores have a great opportunity waiting for them.
