Devil May Cry 5 Live-Action “Cutscenes” Revealed (VIDEO)
Devil May Cry has always contained the perfect mixture of stylish action and pure cheese. Players should expect nothing less from the upcoming Devil May Cry 5. Capcom showed off a bit of that blend in the E3 2018 announcement trailer. Yesterday, the company showed even more of that tried and true formula with some live-action cutscenes.
On the official Devil May Cry Twitter account, the company released twenty seconds of live-action film. The shots directly reflect what we saw in the E3 trailer. A replica car tears through various inanimate objects. A woman catches a cigarette out of the air with her mouth. A man leans across a green screen and fires a gun wildly into the distance. It’s peak Devil May Cry campiness.

Seeing these actions with real people shows how ridiculous Devil May Cry can be, but Capcom made sure fans knew they were in on the joke. They explained that the images were actually storyboards to help animators along the way. This footage, however, will be available in the Deluxe Edition of Devil May Cry 5.
Some fans on Twitter called for a full release of all behind-the-scenes live-action shots, which would be an absolute delight. Regardless of your thoughts on DMC, there’s no doubt that Capcom has a ton of fun making these games. That shines through when playing the game, and we can’t wait to see what other absurd scenes the company decides to show off in live-action.
Devil May Cry 5 releases March 8, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Fans of the franchise can preorder the game now. Capcom is offering an exceptional Collector’s Edition now, plus an absurdly priced $8,000 Ultra Limited Edition. If you aren’t willing to pony up for Dante’s coat with that version, know that the Deluxe Editions will include Megaman’s Mega Buster!
