Release Dates for Deadpool 2, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and New Mutants Announced
Movies based on video games and comic series have been on the rise in the past several years and there doesn’t seem to be any sign of slowing down. 20th Century Fox, on one hand, just recently announced the release dates for Marvel’s Deadpool 2, X:Men: Dark Phoenix, and New Mutants. There are so many heroes and story arcs that, at times, can be overwhelming for some. So far, the masterminds behind the films have been doing a pretty good job at overlapping some of the endings, yet maintaining each movie’s individuality unless otherwise noted.
The first movie to release out of the three will be New Mutants on April 13th, 2018. Written and Directed by Josh Boone, the film will focus on the young mutants attending Professor Xavier school. Deadpool 2 is next on the list with an anticipated debut date of June 1st, 2018. Lastly, Dark Phoenix will premiere on November 2nd, 2018. Of course, more movies are currently underway or in the process of being filmed at this moment such as Aquaman (December 21st, 2018), Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Guardians of the Galaxy to name a few.
The Guardians of the Galaxy film franchise is not only seeing the second installment on May 5th, but the third sequel has already been confirmed by director James Gunn. You could say he’s jumping the gun, but a particular Facebook post says this is a calling. In other Marvel-ous news, MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) recently released a trailer for the soon-to-be Cloak & Dagger television series premiering next year in 2018.
What do you think of all this attention to superhero movies – do you love it or hate it? Are some of the films and TV shows better than others?
