It was revealed last month that job openings on their website that Blizzard’s new mobile game was in development, but many of the details were carefully kept under wraps. At least, for the most part. Even though the idea of a StarCraft mobile game sounds heavenly, it looks to not be the case. A recent posting has disclosed some relatively solid evidence regarding which universe the game is supposed to take place. Here are some of the specifics looking for an “FX Artist” for an unannounced project in Irvine, California:

The original ad for the position can be seen here, which was brought to attention by NeoGAF forum user Nirolak. They pointed out that Diablo is improbable even though the developers have mused on about Overwatch and Starcraft project. The biggest takeaway has to be the very last piece of the requirements section. While the thought of it taking place in another world within the Blizzard universes is possible, it seems that this lowers the prospects to a very small margin. Taking into account that the preferred qualification is “a passion for exploring new ideas in mobile gaming”, it doesn’t necessarily rule out the concept of a crossover between games either. However, that seems highly unlikely. Other key details include the utilization of the Unity engine, experience in mobile gaming development, and the ability to work with a small team.
