Ark: Survival Evolved Debuts Minecraft-Inspired New Spin-off ‘PixARK’ (VIDEO)
Ark: Survival Evolved is a dino-loving survival game that has taken a unique spin on the popular genre, making it a go-to pick for many players. It’s downside is that it can be a little daunting for some gamers, leaning more towards the hardcore survival. This is where the spin-off title PixARK comes in to play. While technically revealed last year as the result of a deal with Snail Games and Ark: Survival Evolved developer Studio Wildcard, the title has just made its official debut with a new trailer!
The spin-off takes the open-world survival aspects of Ark: Survival Evolved such as dinosaur taming, multiplayer cooperation, crafting and more with the accessibility and looks of Minecraft. With Mojang’s open world building title also utilising similar features, the spin-off looks to be a perfect fit. Check it out in the video below:
According to the game’s listing on Steam, players will be able to build, tame, and ride over 100 dinosaurs, while taking on epic quests.
Team up with friends to form a tribe, or play on your own. Spend your time building a towering fortress or go on a quest in a sprawling cavern. Fly on the back of a dragon and smite your enemies with a magic wand, or ride a mighty T-Rex and blast your foes with a rocket launcher. In the world of PixARK, how you play is up to you – as long as you survive!
During development, PixARK will only be available through Steam and as an Xbox Game Preview title, though it will also be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch as well.
