Major Fortnite Battle Royale Changes Teased By Epic Games

Fortnite Battle Royale

It’s not an uncommon sight to see updates within Epic Games’ Fortnite Battle Royale. From wacky new items and weapons, to a constant stream of events and balance changes, the game is perpetually in a state of growth and change. With the goal of keeping the game fresh and entertaining, the developers at Epic have dedicated themselves to listening to fans and making the appropriate adjustments while being transparent about what they hope to do with the title. The team has also recently teased new changes coming to help further grow the game.

According to a recent blog post, the developers explain that it’s important that the late game strategies don’t end up being this monotonous loop about who can build and who can’t.

It’s important to support a variety of late game strategies, that don’t boil down to “just build lol”. We strongly believe that the evolution of Fortnite supports a wide range of play styles and counterplay. Currently, the superiority of shotguns, rockets, and uncapped building are such a dominant play style in the final circle that most other strategies are being drowned out.”

The team wants to empower players with the ability to play the game through various ways without being pushed towards one tactic or another. In order to do this, they are exploring changes to make in the game  including building and resource caps, weapon balancing, and more.

You should be able to find Victory Royales through multiple strategies. Shotguns should be strong, but other weapons have room to grow. Not every encounter should have to end in a build-off. We want to empower you to showcase your skill, strategy, and tactics in all variety of ways.”

They added, “We’ll be exploring these changes over the next few weeks – we’re excited to hear your thoughts and encourage you to participate in discussions on our various social channels.”

Fortnite Battle Royale is available for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, as well as iOS devices. Are there any changes you’d like to see come to the game?
