Final Fantasy Studio Working On ‘High-End RPG Remake’ For PS5
While Sony and its affiliated studios continue to work on new IP’s for the PlayStation 5, there are still plenty of gamers out there consistently requesting that their older favorite titles be remade or remastered for the latest generation of consoles. It appears that at least some of you out there will be getting your wish granted, as it’s been revealed that a “high-end RPG remake” is in development for the PS5.
As reported by Gematsu, developer Mutan Insight is now hiring staff to work on a “high-end RPG (remake / title private) for PlayStation 5,” with the listing going on to state that workers will be “in a development environment using game engines such as Unreal Engine 5.” The positions the company is hiring for include a 3D motion designer, 3D art director, 3D background designer, and 2D character designer.
For those unfamiliar, Mutan Insight is a subsidiary of MUTAN, a company that has previously worked on the Atelier and Blue Reflection video game series. The company’s credits also include Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn, as well as providing background models for Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth.
As for what this high-end RPG remake could be, it’s currently anyone’s guess. Given that Mutan typically works as a support developer, they could be working hand in hand with, say, the folks over at Bluepoint Games. For now there’s just not much to go on, though current guesses include the likes of Legend of Dragoon and Final Fantasy VII Remake Part II.
