PS5 Was Sony’s “Biggest Console Launch Ever,” Restocks Coming Soon
The launch of the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S has apparently broken records for both Sony and Microsoft, respectively. Earlier this month, Xbox boss Phil Spencer announced that the launch of his company’s next-gen console has been the largest one in Xbox history. Now, it appears that Sony is able to celebrate something similar, with the added bonus of promising that more PS5 inventory is on the way.
Sony recently took to Twitter to thank its fans for making the PS5 launch their “biggest console launch ever.” Alongside this lovely news comes a promise that more PS5 inventory will be hitting retailers before the end of the year, which is certainly some good news for those still looking to snag a next-gen console this Holiday season. “Demand for the PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year,” the Tweet reads. “Please stay in touch with your local retailers.”

While more inventory is on its way, Sony is putting plenty of work hours in to ensure that new buyers will have a relatively smooth and seamless experience with the PS5. The console’s recently released system update targets various performance improvements while also squashing a few problematic issues related to disc data deletion and charging the DualSense controller. Update notes can be found right here.
