Fortnite Vending Machines Are Actually A Thing, Coming Soon

Fortnite has never attempted to hide how strange of a game it is. Where PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has a tendency to (mostly) lean towards realistic gameplay, the Epic Games title instead lets its whimsical nature carry it straight into the hearts of its growing fan base. Now, what appears to be the newest chapter in this strange tale is almost upon us; Fortnite vending machines are coming soon.

Epic Games has yet to actually come forward about the Fortnite vending machines. Instead, the developer has chosen to hide them within the game’s maps, and as such they are only accessible by glitching through the bottom of the Battle Royale map. The vending machines don’t simply stock delicious beverages, either. Players can instead hand over their extra wood in exchange for weapons and extra gear.

Seen above is an in-game advertisement that was reported by Fortnite Intel, which includes a message about the upcoming vending machines. “Trade in spare materials for extra gear,” the ad reads. Not unlike the recently announced weapons coming soon to Fortnite, the vending machines represent an interesting twist on the winning formula that has let Fortnite grow in popularity ever since it released its Battle Royale mode. It will be interesting to see what Epic Games does next, and whether or not they will offer new and unique types of weapons and gear through vending machines.

Fortnite is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
