Yakuza: Like A Dragon Release Date Confirmed With New Trailer (VIDEO)
The release of Yakuza: Like a Dragon is old news to players in Japan, but SEGA has been preparing a release in the West for a number of months now. However, while the over-the-top RPG spin on the series has received quite a few details regarding gameplay and extra platforms, an actual release date has yet to be doled out – at least in an official capacity. Now it appears that the previous leaks are true and Like a Dragon is set to finally be available on November 13th.
The news was delivered in a new trailer, showcasing a peek at the series’ typically wild criminal world, but filled with vibrant and outrageous combat based around specific jobs. New protagonist Ichiban Kasuga can be seen throwing down as a breakdancer, dealing out damage as a casino dealer, and cooking up trouble as a particularly heated chef. The trailer’s finale shows an especially off-the-wall scene involving our hero decked out in full knight’s armor, preparing to battle a ferocious dragon. No, not “like a dragon,” an actual dragon. Check it out below.
While the western release of Yakuza: Like a Dragon is eleven months removed from the original Japanese launch (January 2020), it still represents a relatively shorter wait than previous localizations in the franchise. As such, it appears players the game will arrive while still in the midst of its post-launch period, with a number of DLCs being made available to players upon release. Varyingly available through the game’s special editions, each of the slated six content packs will also be available separately at launch, granting such essentials as the Devil Rocker job set, permanent stat boosts, and singable karaoke songs from previous entries in the series.
