The Witcher: Blood Origin Gains Michelle Yeoh For New Role
The Witcher: Blood Origin is an upcoming Netflix original series that will serve as a prequel to the core series that follows Geralt of Rivia. It will follow a tale in a land where the worlds of Men, Elves, and Monsters collided and became as one, while also exploring how the first Witcher came to be. Though Jodie Turner-Smith left the project earlier this year, Laurence O’Fuarain is still on as the character Fjall. Now, it’s been announced that the much beloved Michelle Yeoh has been added to The Witcher: Blood Origin as an elven character who’s the very last of her tribe.
A recent Tweet has arrived confirming that Michelle Yeoh has been cast as Scían, who hails from a nomadic tribe of sword-elves on a quest to retrieve a sacred sword that was taken from her tribe by some nefarious means. As she makes her way through the journey, her quest will alter the future of the continent. How the character fits into the overall story of the upcoming 6-part Netflix seriesremains to be seen but Yeoh’s addition is sure to be a welcome one nonetheless. The actress has been attributed to multiple projects such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the upcoming Ark: Survival Evolved animated series, Star Trek: Discovery, Gunpowder Milkshake, and most recently in the upcoming Marvel film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
