RoboCop Game Announced By Terminator: Resistance Devs (VIDEO)

Robocop Game

The 1980s proved to be an era that helped perfect the action movie genre, so much so that the big action movie franchises from the generation are held fondly to this day. Action heroes like Rambo and John McClain are widely regarded as some of the best movie heroes of all time and have recently made a resurgence in video games as recently as Call of Duty: Warzone. Another such 1980s movie hero is RoboCop, who, while a sparing focus of a few video games, did see himself being added to the Mortal Kombat 11 roster last year. Now, it seems that after a long break, a RoboCop game is indeed in the works.

Developer Teyon recently announced their new RoboCop game, along with a new reveal trailer released on publisher Nacon’s official YouTube channel. Teyon was most recently behind another game adaptation of a classic 80s action movie franchise, Terminator: Resistance. The new RoboCop video game, titled RoboCop: Rogue City, will be based on the events of the first three RoboCop films, but feature an original story. The trailer shows an emerging Old Detroit rising as audio propaganda for the Omni Consumer Products corporation is played. The trailer ends with a quick shot of RoboCop’s signature built-in gun holster opening from his thigh.

Little else about the RoboCop game has been revealed aside from a few concept art pieces from Steam that show RoboCop entering the Omni Consumer Products building and some location shots of Old Detroit. The game is currently slated for a release in 2023 for PC and consoles. RoboCop fans that saw Murphy in action in Mortal Kombat 11 last year have been hoping to see him in a game of his own, and at long last, his return has been heralded. Now, I’d buy THAT for a dollar! Maybe even sixty dollars?
