For This Weekend Only – Play Skyrim on Xbox One and PC for Free
So you have found yourself stuck in a rut in what to play next and you have looked Bethesda’s beloved title The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim but have yet to embark on a journey to northern reaches of Tamriel yet? Well, we have good news for you! From today September 7th through Sunday, both PC and Xbox One players have been given the opportunity to play the Special Edition of the title – for free!
Skyrim is open-world RPG brought to gamers worldwide in 2011 by the development team at Bethesda Game Studios. Much like its previous titles in the franchise, the game offers a sense of action and adventure as players learn they possess rare abilities rarely seen throughout the ages. Battle hordes of enemies and defeat fearsome Dragons in order to survive through the frozen tundras of the mountainous territory of Skyrim. Partake in a civil war between the Empire that lords over the lands of Tamriel, and the Stormcloak Rebellion that feels their land should be ruled by the Nordic people of origin.
Whatever the path you decide to take in this land, the choice is yours – but only until Sunday. PC players who get the game on Steam will have from now until 1 PM PT/ 4 PM ET to try the game. Xbox One players with a Xbox Live Gold Subscription will be able to obtain the game till 11:59 PM PT. Gamers will be delighted to hear that the progress you make during your time playing the trial version of the game will carry over to full version if purchased. In addition to the game being free to play for a limited amount of time, both platforms are offering a discounted versions. On Steam, it can be found for $19.99, which is 50% off from the original price of $39.99. Xbox One versions will be at a discounted price of $30.00 instead of the usual price of $59.99.
