Resident Evil 2 Creatively Remade Using Far Cry 5’s Map Editor (VIDEO)
It is no secret that Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake has been in development for years now, long enough that even Square Enix has likely begun to raise a collective eyebrow. With no real timeline given suggesting a release date for the long-anticipated survival horror game, a dedicated fan has taken it upon himself to recreate the beginning area of Resident Evil 2 using Far Cry 5’s Arcade Mode map editor. Check it out below:
Created by a user named ZergRex and then shared by Slurry Noises on YouTube, the fan-made level is actually pretty awesome. Players can choose between Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy, who come equipped with a bow and a shotgun, respectively. As Far Cry 5 is the core game, players can utilize the sneaking mechanic in order to execute takedowns on unsuspecting “zombies.”
From the start of the level players are tasked with fighting their way through a part of Raccoon City in order to get to Raccoon City Police Department. As it is a Journey map-type, all a player needs to do is make it to the end destination – R.C.P.D – in order to complete the level. The level features the same beats as the original game: Raccoon City alleyways, Kendo’s Gun Shop, and finally the ill-fated Police Department. Far Cry 5 is still fresh on the shelves, so it will be interesting to see what other fan creations come out of the game’s Arcade Mode map editor.
