Pokémon Legends: Arceus Trailer Features Kleavor Boss Battle (VIDEO)
2021 has proven to be a big, eventful year for Pokémon, and as it comes to a close, it shows that 2022 will not end the festivities for the franchise. The series celebrated its 25th anniversary this year with a new Pokémon Snap game, upcoming remakes of Diamond and Pearl, and new Pokémon-themed music from big names like Katy Perry and Post Malone. Nintendo also is also exciting fans with a new open-world adventure aimed at breathing new life into the series. Now, a new Pokémon Legends: Arceus trailer unveils new features and creatures that will be in the new game.
The Pokémon Company has released the new Pokémon Legends: Arceus trailer on its official YouTube channel. The trailer shows many of the new features included in the new game, such as the ability to ride Pokémon freely in the open-world title. While riding Pokémon is nothing new for the series, players in Arceus can freely ride large Pokémon in full 360-motion by land, air, and sea. Given Arceus’s new setting in a medieval Japan-like era, the player will now combat wardens like Mai and Iscan that protect special Pokémon, instead of battling gym leaders.
The Pokémon Legends: Arceus trailer also shows off the new location Jubilife Village, where players can shop, change their avatar into a variety of outfits and take photos with their favorite Pokemon. It also suggests new boss-like Pokémon will create challenging encounters, such as the newly revealed Kleavor, a noble Bug/Rock type. The new game promises a bold new entry in the Pokémon series, yet holds onto plenty of familiar elements for longtime fans. Pokémon Legends: Arceus releases on January 28th, 2022, and for veteran players, it is yet another opportunity for them to “gotta catch ’em all.”
