Pokemon GO Multiplayer Battle League Announced
Despite how some feel about mobile games in general, it’s a highly profitable market in the games industry right now. Pokemon Go, for example, is one of the top-grossing apps globally and recently reached a milestone when they raked in $176 million in revenue in August 2019 alone. Safe to say that as far as 2019 goes, Niantic and company are doing perfectly fine but that doesn’t mean they’re halting improvements.

From seasonal and recurring events like Safari Zone, raid hours, Team GO Rocket, and the upcoming beta for their Wayfarer feature, Pokemon Go announced the addition of online battles as well. Coming to the mobile app in 2020, Niantic will introduce GO Battle League. Their official blog reads:
“Like many Pokémon GO features, GO Battle League will encourage players to get out and explore the world with Pokémon. Trainers will be able to walk in order to earn entry into the GO Battle League, then battle opponents from around the globe through an online matching system and rise in the ranks of the league. We hope this feature will make the Pokémon GO battling experience more competitive and accessible to more Trainers.”
Go Battle League is anticipated for an early 2020 release and that could be anywhere between January to March. Regardless, that’s fantastic news for Pokemon Go players everywhere. We’re inching closer and closer to living that Pokemon Trainer dream in real life!
