PlayStation Plus Free Games For September 2018 Revealed (VIDEO)

PlayStation Plus Free Games For May 2019 Revealed (VIDEO)

With a new month just a couple of days away, Sony has revealed the free PlayStation Plus games for September 2018. Their previous free games offered players a wide range of excellent titles to choose from, and September is no exception. Let’s take a closer look at all of the new free titles for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

Destiny 2 (PS4)

Unlike the rest of the titles on this list, you can get Destiny 2 free right now. Bungie wants to give players a 24 hour free trial for their new PvE/PvP hybrid mode, Gambit, on September 1. Gather your allies, join the battle, and help avenge Cayde-6!

God of War III: Remastered (PS4)

No, not the new God of War. You have to pay for a dad simulator. Instead, Sony is letting us dive bace into Kratos’ earlier Greek years. If you don’t remember, God of War III saw Kratos raging war on Olympus itself in a quest to destroy all of the gods who wronged him. It’s hack ’n’ slash at its finest.

Another World—20th Anniversary Edition (PS3, with PS4 and Vita Cross Buy)

You may better know this game as Out Of This World. The game has appeared on multiple platforms under both titles over its three decades of existence. Either way, Another World has grown into a cult classic action/platformer since its debut 27 years ago. You play as scientist Lester Knight Chaykin as you battle your way through multiple eras and worlds. A nuclear experiment forces you to battle back to your own time, but you need to play the game to fully appreciate the complex story.

Q.U.B.E.: Director’s Cut (PS3, with PS4 Cross Buy)

Reminiscent of Portal, Q.U.B.E. forces players to solve complex problems on their quest to save the planet. The player awakens in the middle of an alien object on a collision course for Earth. Your special sci-fi gloves allow you to manipulate the environment to your will as you journey towards heroism. As a massive fan of puzzle games, this title is at the top of my list.

Sparkle 2 (PS Vita, with PS3 and PS4 Cross Buy)

A different sort of puzzle game. Sparkle 2 lets players launch colored marbles at a winding snake in order to create matching sets. That sounds like most endless casual puzzlers, but fear not! Sparkle 2 actually contains a limited number of levels and a legitimate story to unfurl. It doubles as fun time killer and fairly absorbing story—not an easy feat to pull off for the genre.

Foul Play (PS Vita, with PS4 Cross Buy)

Foul Play is a side-scrolling co-op brawler from Devolver Digital, which should really be all you need to know. You play as the wonderfully named daemon hunter Baron Dashforth, a charming fellow with a monocle and handlebar mustache, or his assistant Scampwick. As with all things Digital Devolver, style is as important as substance, and Foul Play has style in spades.

Here They Lie (PlayStation VR)

“Death is not a checkpoint.” I’m not entirely sure what that means, but the game looks terrifying. Players dive into a surreal black and white hellscape and have to meet it face first. The art style and bizarre creatures are compelling and should make for a fully immersive horror title.

Knowledge is Power (PlayLink)

If you think you’re the smartest person in the room, this game is for you. Knowledge is Power is a party game where you defeat your friends via trivia and challenges. This game, unlike the previous titles, will be available until November for PlayStation Plus members.

Another strong and extensive variety of games for PlayStation Plus members to choose from! Let us know you thoughts on the titles in the comments below. And be sure to follow DFTG on Facebook and Twitter for more gaming news and updates!
