PlayStation 5 Spec Leak Denounced By Gaming Insider (VIDEO)

PlayStation 5

The Xbox Series X was given a full reveal at last year’s The Game Awards, letting fans have a peek at the design of the console as well as a small tease of what kind of power lies under the hood of the beefy machine. While the PlayStation 5 has been announced, there isn’t too much that fans know about the console aside from leaked information and informed speculation put forth by developers. A recent specification leak seemingly suggested an incredibly powerful PS5 in the works, but an insider has come forward claiming that this information may not be as truthful as once thought.

Notable Insider under the moniker of Kleegamefan has maintained a reputation for providing accurate information concerning all manner of subjects in gaming. Through posts on ResetEra (via Wccftech), the insider explained that recent details coming from the Github Oberon leak didn’t line up with the information he/she had gathered, repeatedly claiming the widespread specs to be inaccurate.

As mentioned in the DigitalFoundry video above, a major part of the aforementioned Github leak describes the console as having a massive 9.2 teraflop GPU, a detail that fans would surely salivate over. With incredible claims like these, it’d be hard to discern which information might be accurate, especially since Kleegamefan has continually contributed accurate information in the past. However, one also can’t ignore the credibility of the longtime tech experts at DigitalFoundry, who also expressed skepticism about the unconfirmed PS5 specs, but ultimately backed up the Xbox Series X details claimed in the leak.

Suffice to say that fans are going to have a hard time finding something to really believe until Sony themselves confirm or deny rumors floating around these days. When that might be is currently unknown, but if the Holiday 2020 release window of the PlayStation 5 is any indication, perhaps an official reveal could arrive sooner rather than later. Next month’s PlayStation Meeting could be the most likely opportunity, as the event has been rumored to include a PS5 announcement ever since last year.

The PlayStation 5 is slated to release in Holiday 2020. Let us know your thoughts on the upcoming PlayStation console and more in the comments section below. As always, don’t forget to follow Don’t Feed the Gamers on Twitter for 24/7 coverage of all things gaming and entertainment.
