After months of speculation, Sony has finally unveiled a first proper look at the next-generation PlayStation 5, not only showcasing a number of exciting new games, but the stunning look at the heavy-spec console itself. Further stoking the flames of hype, Sony also announced a lineup of PS5 accessories that will accompany the main hardware when it makes it to launch later this year.

While much about the peripheral was already unveiled beforehand, Sony’s event memorably demonstrated the unique capabilities of the DualSense controller in a particularly striking fashion. Surrounded by piles of color-changing particles, interactive features such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are illustrated to a visually satisfying degree, with the corresponding footage also highlighting several other inclusions like the new USB Type C charger port, motion-sensing capabilities, and a nifty built-in microphone.

The remaining lineup of PlayStation 5 accessories were shown off in a separate piece of footage, officially making their debut alongside the main hardware itself. Including the DualSense controller, a slate of five accessories are confirmed so far: the PULSE 3D wireless headset has 3D audio support and a pair of noise-canceling microphones; the HD Camera is confirmed to sport 1080p video recording; the Media Remote features a minimalist design and a built-in microphone; and the Charging Station is designed to conveniently charge two DualSense controllers at once.

Pricing and when any of these PlayStation 5 Accessories may be available is currently unknown, but will likely be fully revealed when the console itself narrows down a concrete release date. While the hardware’s look was finally shown off, there still looks to be much to learn about how the console will operate, especially considering the array of ideas currently brewing behind-the-scenes at Sony. One thing that’s for sure it that Sony is aiming to put forth a truly stunning aesthetic for the next-generation hardware, with supplementary accessories all seeming to follow suit.

The PlayStation 5 is slated to release sometime in Holiday 2020.
