New Pokemon Masters Trailer Sheds Light On New Gameplay (VIDEO)
Pokemon Masters is an upcoming mobile title that will expand on the ever-growing franchise by bringing fans a new way to play while still offering plenty of nostalgia along the way. While the game was announced earlier this year, development on the title has been fairly quiet until now. A recent trailer, however, is aiming to give fans a little insight as to what is on the way and reveals that the game is set to arrive sooner than players might expect.
The trailer opens with a sequence animated in the same manner as the Pokemon tv show and sees multiple trios of trainers fighting in teams, many of whom will seem incredibly familiar to most players. Later on in the video, however, developers go into detail on what exactly the game aims to become: an entirely new experience is awaiting players from new gameplay mechanics, to a new story, and much more.
According to the developers, Pokemon Masters will see players exploring a new artificial island called Pasio for a special tournament. Along the way, players will encounter various trainers from previous games that they’ll be able to group up with as teams of three. Each trainer has a signature Pokemon that is used in battle, changing the way players approach their team building. While in battles players will no longer be constrained behind turn-based mechanics, instead abilities will have cooldown times allowing for real-time combat. Rather than trainers sitting on the sidelines simply giving out orders, Pokemon Masters gives each of them abilities of their own that can be used to help support their team’s Pokemon.
The developers mention that the game is aiming for a release later this Summer however no specific date was mentioned.
