Family Guy, King of the Hill Kart Racer Coming To Apple Arcade

Family Guy, King of the Hill Kart

The medium of video games has had many tried and true genres, but perhaps none are as everlasting or prevalent as the kart racer. This genre of games has especially lent itself well to companies looking to utilize their pre-existing popular characters in a type of game that is fairly easy to produce and translate their properties to. While Mario Kart is overwhelmingly the most popular, even franchises like Nickelodeon and Final Fantasy have gotten their characters in on the kart racing kick. Now, a new kart racing game featuring characters from Family Guy, King of the Hill and more has been revealed.

Apple announced the new kart racing game with a tweet on their official Apple Arcade Twitter account. The new game, titled Warped Kart Racers, is being developed by Electric Square for Apple Arcade. The game will prominently feature characters from four Fox Animated series: Family Guy, King of the Hill, American Dad and Solar Opposites. Much like newer Mario Kart games, this game will also allow players to customize their karts, down to the tires, antennae, gliders and more.

Family Guy

As of now, Warped Kart Racers is confirmed to have 16 unique racing tracks and 20 playable characters. Among the playable characters confirmed so far are the entire Griffin family from Family Guy (minus Chris Griffin for now), the entire Smith family from American Dad and the Hill family from King of the Hill. Sadly, no Simpsons or Futurama characters have been confirmed at this point, though additional DLC characters seem to be a possibility, so fans should keep a watchful eye out for their favorite Springfield residents. For now, the game is set to launch on May 20th, and will be accessible for all Apple Arcade subscribers. This certainly looks like a kart-racer as precious as Texas’s best export: propane and propane accessories.
