A New Clue in the Great Overwatch’s Next Character Mystery has Arrived
The ongoing saga as to who Overwatch‘s next character is continues! Last week, we saw a handful of details revealed that point towards the newest hero, but with one minor hiccup – we don’t know who it is. The original consensus was that Doomfist was next in line, but game director Jeff Kaplan shot that down. Shortly after putting the hammer down on that idea, a new clue arrived. 11-year-old Efi Oladele was featured in the “Spotlight of Numbani” as the robotics and A.I. prodigy had been awarded a genius grant in recognition of her accomplishments in the aforementioned fields.
In a tweet sent out from the Overwatch Twitter account, we find our latest clue. Efi seems to be getting down to business, as indicated by the photo and caption that were tweeted. The post read:
[UPDATE] Genius grant recipient and Numbani local Efi Oladele posts curious image on her holovid channel, declaring: ‘Time to get to work!'”
Of course, fans were quick to jump on the fact that this was a child and the chances of her being Overwatch‘s next character were rather slim. However, this didn’t stop the speculation that she could very well be the creator of the next hero. With her expertise, and at such a young age, the possibilities are endless. The photo above appears to be a shopping list for robot parts. Well, that and some Lucio-Oh’s because you can’t build Overwatch‘s next character on an empty stomach! The list is as follows:
- OR-15 chassis
- Branford arm
- Fusion driver
- Miniature Tolbelstein reactor
- Paint (Shown: Brown, Beige, Green, and Yellow)
- Axiom vocal processor? (Crossed out with “Got it!” written next to it)
- Lucio-Oh’s!
There’s no doubt that this is a recipe for a robot and that Efi is definitely cooking up something. What could it possibly be? Well, we’re just going to have to wait and find out. However, by the looks of it, whatever Efi is building will probably talk since she already has the vocal processor. Talking Bastion? We’re down!
