Kaplan Shows off Overwatch Concept Art That Hightlights an Unrevealed Character Idea

Overwatch concept art

Game Director Jeff Kaplan spoke at the DICE Summit and showed off a piece of Overwatch concept art which has a strange character in the middle of it that doesn’t yet exist in the game. In the picture below, you can see heroes such as Mercy, Winston, Tracer, and Genji, but in the middle of it is a huge spider/robot looking being that is shooting what seems to be a laser beam. Kaplan made sure to point out that he knows some people will catch that and make a big deal, but it isn’t what you think, “I need to say this for our subreddit so it doesn’t implode: No, the hero in the center is not the hero who you think it is.” Check it out for yourself:

This isn’t the first time in the recent past that he has had to dispel rumors about the next Overwatch hero. People were going crazy thinking that the next playable character would be Doomfist, but Kaplan said the same thing then, “It’s not who you think it is.” This week, Blizzard introduced us to an 11 year old scientist in a blog post, and people are sure she must be the new hero’s creator, but we will just have to wait and see. They have said that there are multiple heroes being developed at the time, so maybe one of them is this mega robot spider! That would be cool as hell, not even going to lie.

Possible creator of upcoming hero.

We can’t wait to see who the next new hero will be! Do you guys think this Overwatch concept art is concrete proof of an upcoming hero? Would you be excited if it were? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below and make sure to follow Don’t Feed the Gamers on Twitter and now Disqus!
