Mortal Kombat 11 Finally Reveals Nightwolf Gameplay (VIDEO)

For weeks now, NetherRealm Studios and Creative Director Ed Boon have been teasing the DLC characters for Mortal Kombat 11, the next arrival set to be the Native American-themed warrior Nightwolf. Though there’s been plenty to suggest the new character was indeed on the way, what hasn’t been as clear is exactly when this new Kombat Pack member was intended to release; with no gameplay to speak of even two full months after being announced.

With fans growing exceedingly restless, NetherRealm has finally revealed the first gameplay for Nightwolf, showcasing the shaman’s magical moveset and exceedingly brutal Fatality. Based on the debuting trailer, Nightwolf appears to rely heavily on his summoning abilities, able to conjure elemental lightning and even animal spirits to aid in battle. Of course, the character also utilizes his traditional magic-infused weaponry, tools which violently come into play during Nightwolf’s stomach-churning Fatality. Check it out below.

While this gloriously gory showcase would likely be enough on its own, the above trailer also provided a soft release date for the character. Going live on August 13th, Nightwolf is set to first become available in “Early Access” to Kombat Pack owners, with remaining players expected to get the DLC a week later on August 20th. Following that, a number of other fighters will be left to release, including demonic comic character Spawn, the screaming queen Sindel, as well as two mystery guests to be unveiled at a later date.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is also set to be a launch title for Google Stadia in November.
