Mortal Kombat 11 Leak Suggests Erron Black, Rain Could Be Revealed Next
There’s a myriad of kombatants intent on spreading bloodshed in Mortal Kombat 11, several of which have already demonstrated as such in official character-focused trailers. Plenty more newbies and franchise mainstays have been teased to have their own debut sometime in the next few weeks, but it appears that two of these roster members have been prematurely revealed.
By the looks of some newly-discovered Steam achievements, it looks like the quick-drawing gunslinger Erron Black and the aquatic demi-god Rain could soon make an appearance in Mortal Kombat 11. The potential additions were found on the database site SteamDB, where several supposedly hidden details recently went live. Two particularly-telling entries show fighters with abbreviated names “ERR” and “RAI”, suggesting Erron Black and Rain could be the next revealed members of the roster.
While just three letters would at first seem to be a stretch, “ERR” doesn’t seem like it could correspond to any other name Erron Black. “RAI” on the other hand doesn’t seem as concrete, as it could also represent Raiden, a character that has already been confirmed through various pieces of media. This wouldn’t necessarily rule out an appearance from Rain, but it does make it slightly more unlikely compared to Black.
With plenty of surprise reveals left to happen, the two fighters referenced above could easily see an unveiling by NetherRealm. Though, possibilities aren’t endless, as the studio has recently left a specific pair characters out of the running. These exclusions include the game’s time-manipulating big bad Kronika as well as Shaggy from Scooby Doo, the latter being thoroughly “dekonfirmed” despite solid support from the internet.
Mortal Kombat 11 releases for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 23rd.
