Monster Hunter Movie Officially Casts Ron Perlman, T.I. Harris

Despite the film’s production beginning in less than two weeks, very little is still known about director Paul W.S. Anderson’s upcoming Monster Hunter movie adaptation, other than the fact that it will have bloody big monsters. Thankfully, we now know that both Ron Perlman and T.I. Harris are officially joining the cast, starring alongside the previously confirmed Milla Jovovich.

The news comes by way of Hollywood Reporter, which confirmed that Ron Perlman has been cast as a man named Admiral, the leader of the Hunter’s Crew within the movie. Harris, on the other hand, appears to be in a more action-focused role as Link, a sniper who attacks monsters from afar. The two actors are joining Milla Jovovich, whose character is named Artemis, though no additional details have been revealed.

Monster Hunter Movie Will Have 'Bloody Big Monsters,' Says Director

While director Paul W.S. Anderson has yet to reveal any details regarding the film’s story, he did recently mention that the film will contain “some very very big monsters,” which is certainly a step in the right direction considering what the games are based around.  The director also revealed that “a big series of announcements” are about to be made regarding the rest of the cast, the first two of which were the casting of Ron Perlman and T.I. Harris. Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait much longer for more news.

The Monster Hunter movie adaptation is set to begin production in South Africa in less than two weeks, with a $60 million budget. Capcom’s Monster Hunter World is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
