‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ English Voice Cast Revealed

Kingdom Hearts 3 Debuts New Trailer, Gorgeous Box Art (VIDEO

With the long wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 nearly over, Square Enix has begun to open the floodgates on new information regarding the highly anticipated title. This of course includes the new Big Hero 6 trailer that debuted recently, as well as the official box art that fans will (finally) be able to get their hands on soon.

Today, Square Enix pulled back the curtain just a bit more, revealing in a new press release some of the English voice cast fans can expect to hear within the game. Many of the actors listed are reprising their roles from the previous Kingdom Hearts games, while others are notably reprising their roles from their Disney films, which is quite frankly very exciting to see. Here’s the full list that was released this morning:

  • Josh Gad (FrozenBeauty and the Beast) as Olaf from Frozen
  • Kristen Bell (Frozen, Veronica Mars, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) as Anna from Frozen
  • Idina Menzel (Frozen, Enchanted, Rent) as Elsa from Frozen
  • Jonathan Groff (Frozen, Mindhunter, American Sniper) as Kristoff from Frozen
  • Zachary Levi (Tangled, Chuck, Thor: The Dark World) as Flynn Rider from Tangled
  • Donna Murphy (Tangled, Center Stage) as Mother Gothel from Tangled
  • John Ratzenberger (Toy Story, Cheers, The Incredibles, Coco) as Hamm from Toy Story
  • Wallace Shawn (Toy Story, The Princess Bride, The Good Wife) as Rex from Toy Story
  • Tate Donovan (Hercules, The O.C., Argo) as Hercules from Hercules
  • Kevin R. McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean Series) as Gibbs from the Pirates of the Caribbean series
  • Tony Anselmo as Donald Duck
  • Bill Farmer as Goofy

As for Sora, Haley Joel Osment is once again reprising his role as the chosen keyblade master. It is important to note that this is not the full cast list, and as such we will likely see this list fleshed out before long.

One thing to note is that there are no Final Fantasy characters in this list. While there has yet to be an official confirmation stating that there won’t be any Final Fantasy characters in Kingdom Hearts 3, game director Tetsuya Nomura said earlier this year that the characters from the original Kingdom Hearts games are “more polished than they were before,” and that they don’t need the “Final Fantasy characters’ help as much as they did before.” While Nomura also said that the existence of FF characters in KH3 shouldn’t be ruled out yet as he “can only speak to what’s been shown,” fans of Square Enix’s long-running series may want to limit their expectations. Here’s hoping they’ll at least bring back Cloud, as he – unlike the other FF characters – had some decent character development between the first two games.

Kingdom Hearts 3 launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 25, 2019.
