Monster Hunter 3D Animated Special Details Revealed

Monster Hunter Animated Special Details Revealed

Capcom’s Monster Hunter World has been enjoying a massive amount of success ever since it released for PS4 and Xbox One earlier this year, with an official PC release date finally being announced this week. With the franchise riding high, Capcom has teamed up with Pure Imagination Studios for an animated special based on the series that is set to debut in 2019.

Announced earlier today in a Capcom press release, the animated special is titled Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild, and features a young man that sets out to prove himself as a monster hunter. The animated special is written by Joshua Fine, whose previous credits include writer for the Ultimate Spider-Man series and producer for Planet Hulk.

Here’s the quick breakdown of the story for the animated special:

“The 3D animated special, dubbed Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild, tells the story of a brave young man determined to prove himself as a monster hunter worthy of recognition. His chance will come all too soon when he discovers that his remote village lies in the path of an Elder Dragon—a veritable force of nature made flesh.”

“We are thrilled to return fans to the universe of Monster Hunter and expand the series’ rich lore,” said Monster Hunter series producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, regarding the animated special. “We think die-hard fans will appreciate our dedication to the source material while those uninitiated to the series will still be treated to an epic adventure in a wholly unique world.”

Monster Hunter World is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a scheduled PC release date of August 9th, 2018. The animated special will premiere globally in 2019.
