It’s About To Go Down in the New Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle Receives Live-Action Trailer (VIDEO)

Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is a turn based, tactical RPG in which Mario teams up with Rabbids against other Rabbids (It’s a lot of Rabbids). It has been compared to XCOM as a cuter and more friendly version of the alien invasion series, however believing Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle will be an easy affair would be a big mistake. A new trailer for the game has been released and it shows that the game may prove to be more challenging than the cute and cuddly visuals may indicate.

The gritty battle scenario in the beginning of the trailer seems more suited to a game such as Call of Duty than Mario or the Rabbids. The soldier crawls through the dirt under fire from a sniper in a destroyed hallway. However when the soldier leaves for a better vantage point he asks for covering fire from a comrade behind him, that just so happens to be a rabbit. Not everyone can work with a rabbit, it seems. The first live-action video for the upcoming title then moves on to some gameplay featuring various weapons, moves, playable characters, and enemies to be found in the game, including a very intimidating Donkey Kong Rabbid.

For as strange a concept of Mario teaming up with Rabbids seems to be, the title may prove to be a refreshing detour away from both series’ normal gameplay. The game may even provide a challenge for players who enjoy tactical RPG’s, but with a playful Nintendo twist. Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
