Magic: The Gathering’s Throne Of Eldraine Brings New Brawl Decks, Booster Types, And More
2019 has been a great year for Magic: The Gathering players, with expansions bringing in totally new ways to play with cards featuring some incredible art. Next up on the list is the Throne of Eldraine set that aims to change up the formula a little bit, bringing a new plane to the franchise as well as new mechanics, Planeswalkers, and even a new standard rotation to shake up the current metagame.
Wizards of the Coast recently released a slew of new details concerning the expansion set, from its new card treatments to the new ways to open booster packs. Players can find new border-less Plansewalker cards that expand to the very edges of the card, giving more of the sweet, sweet art for players to enjoy. There are also standard cards that have extended borders and new ‘Showcase’ cards that feature a unique and stylized version of cards that revolve around a particular theme.
The boosters themselves are also getting revamped, bringing new ways for players to collect cards such as the Themed Boosters that contain a single color type or the Collectors variant that features a little bit more variety in color and style. The new Brawl decks are also worth taking note of, containing some pretty interesting cards not found in standard Throne of Eldraine booster packs.
Throne of Eldraine launches on October 6th and will be inspired by Arthurian legend and Grimm-like fairy tales.
