Fans of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise have an upcoming adventure to experience with Dark Alliance, an action brawler packed with a ton of abilities for players to make use of. The cooperative adventure will give players a delightful look into the world of the Forgotten Realms campaign setting for the ever-expanding franchise. A new overview trailer has arrived detailing just what fans can expect over the course of their time in the upcoming title from the story premise to party characters and their abilities, environments, enemies, bosses, and much more.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance sees players in the boots of one of four characters: the iconic fighter/ ranger Drizzt Do’Urden who wields dual blades and the power to summon a big spectral cat to aid him in battle; a bow-wielding fighter named Catti-Brie who controls the battlefield regardless of range; the barbarian Wulfgar who deals massive damage with his war hammer; and a tanky Dwarf by the name of Bruenor Battlehammer.

Each of the four characters has over 50 moves and abilities to make use of in an “emergent combat system.” Players will be able to make use of light, heavy, and special attacks that can be used in conjunction with each other to create impressive combos on top of a variety of attacks, ultimate abilities, dodges, parries, and counters. The game encourages players to take time to master one or more of the four characters and their abilities, as doing so will be well worth it.

A ton of enemies are available to fight throughout Icewind Dale, including a variety of different bosses, with more coming the year following release. Players are rewarded for their efforts with loot that they can collect and use to upgrade their characters alongside unlocking new abilities as time goes on. While players can play the game alone, Dark Alliance was also designed to be played with friends and will reward extra team-based abilities to help them in their battles. Though, with each new member in a party comes even greater difficulty in gameplay.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is set to release on June 22nd of this year for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Game Pass.
