Metro Series Creator Confirms Involvement With Metro Exodus Sequel

It looks like the upcoming sequel to Metro Exodus is getting some fatherly love from the Metro book series creator himself. Author Dmitry Glukhovsky has officially confirmed his involvement in the next game’s story, which should be more than enough to excite fans of the series.

Dmitry Glukhovsky made the announcement via his personal Instagram, posting an altered version of the above image with ‘T.B.C.’ written along the snow between the railroad tracks. “The Metro gaming series will be continued,” Glukhovsky says. “Working on the story.” Short and sweet, but that’s more than enough to keep us eagerly awaiting the upcoming sequel.

While it may have appeared that Glukhovsky has been actively assisting in the development for each title in the series, the last Metro game he worked on was 2013’s Metro: Last Light. In regards to Metro Exodus, Andrew Prokhorov ended up filling in on the story aspects of the title. It is currently unknown whether or not the upcoming sequel to Metro Exodus will be based on the books, though we at least know it will be in good hands with Glukhovsky back in the writers’ room.

The journey certainly isn’t over for Metro Exodus, though. The upcoming ‘The Two Colonels’ DLC is set to be revealed tomorrow night at Gamescom 2019, with an exclusive stream beginning at 5pm EST. Here’s hoping we’ll also get a sneak peek into what’s in store for the upcoming sequel.

Metro Exodus is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
