Live A Live Streaming Event Announced By Square Enix

Live A Live Streaming

Role playing games have proven that the genre is one of the most enduring genres in the entire medium, and the company perhaps most ubiquitously known for RPG’s is Square Enix. Aside from their flagship Final Fantasy franchise which continues to this day, the publisher has helped create several other big RPG franchises that hold up in their own right as well. One such RPG that fans still hold dear has been Live A Live, which first released in 1994 on the Super Famicom. Now, Square Enix has announced that they will soon host a special streaming event for the game.

Live A Live director Takashi Tokita recently shared a tweet on his official Twitter account announcing the live streaming event. On October 3rd, Tokita will be participating in a digital event celebrating the 26th anniversary of the game. Also present will be composer Yoko Shimomura, Character Pixel Art Illustrator, Battle Director Nobuyuki Inoue, Kazuyuki Kurashima, and comedian Nobuo.

In the tweet, Tokita also seems to imply that he might be returning to the franchise in the form of a new game project related to the franchise that may be announced during the streaming event. In the past few months, Square Enix has in fact filed new patents for Live A Live in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia, so they certainly may be planning for a new game to be released. This would be interesting considering that the original release of the game was only in Japan for the Super Famicom, making this the first official international release for the franchise. Hopefully such an announcement for a new game is made during the stream. We could all use the good news to make us feel ALive again.
