It Takes Two Revealed By ‘A Way Out’ Developer (VIDEO)
Hazelight has a fairly short history in the gaming world with only 2 titles under their belt so far, though the studio has done an impressive job at re-imagining what a game can be. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons took players on an epic adventure as they controlled two characters as they searched for a cure to aid their sick father. Players used individual thumbsticks to control each brother as players used the two to solve puzzles, making for an intriguing method of play melded with a wonderful story. The company’s second title, A Way Out, was a cooperative title that is only playable in online or split-screen co-op between two players. In this title, the players were tasked with finding a way to escape prison by interacting with NPC’s, finding creative solutions to getting past obstacles, and more. Now a new game is set to arrive called It Takes Two, once again taking players on a cooperative ride weaving gameplay and story into an intriguing title.
EA and Hazelight recently revealed It Takes Two during the EA Play livestream event. Developer Josef Fares explained that the title will see a young girl whose parents are currently going through a divorce. The young girl creates two dolls with the likeness of her mother and father. The dolls then magically come to life and are controlled by the players, though how the game will work mechanically was left unclear. Fares did mention that the fans will “almost playing” the emotions of the mother and father through the dolls, though there was no indication as to how. Here’s the trailer:
It Takes Two is set to arrive sometime in 2021 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 though there was no word on an official release date. There was also no mention if the title would be arriving on next-gen consoles either. Are you ready to control one of two dolls in this emotional roller-coaster of a title?
