Cyberpunk 2077 Still Launching On Current-Gen Consoles, Devs Confirm

Cyberpunk 2077

It was recently revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed yet again, but for a very good reason. After all, fans would surely prefer a complete and polished game over a buggy one. That said, the two-month delay prompted many to believe that the title would now be launching on the next generation of consoles, but the devs have confirmed that won’t be the case.

Following the announcement of the delay, CD Projekt RED took to Twitter to reveal that Cyberpunk 2077 will still be launching on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this November. However, for those who purchase the game on these consoles, the PS4 copy will run on the PS5 and the Xbox One version will work on the Xbox Series X. In addition to this, a free upgrade will be available at a later date that will take “full advantage of the next-gen hardware.”

For those who have not heard, CD Projekt RED delayed Cyberpunk 2077 again, but not by much. An extra two months were tacked onto the end, meaning the game will now be arriving in November instead of September. The game itself, however, is complete in terms of content. The developers will be using the additional time to tackle remaining bugs and make some balance changes.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be arriving on November 19th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
