The film and television industries have had no shortage of adaptations of beloved video game franchises lately. These projects have been especially present on streaming platforms, with Netflix seeing success for its new Arcane animated series based on League of Legends, and HBO working on a live-action The Last of Us series. Headlines recently blew up with the news that Amazon is reportedly working on a series adapting the Mass Effect games to live-action. Now, it appears that none other than Henry Cavill has expressed much interest in joining the project’s cast, if the show is indeed a reality.

GamesRadar recently shared an interview that they conducted with Henry Cavill. The actor is already well-known for his work on an adaptation of a video game series, as he currently stars in The Witcher series at Netflix. The star also memorably drew attention to a potential Mass Effect role when he inadvertently teased his involvement with something involving the franchise earlier this year. Considering the new reports, GamesRadar asked if he would like to appear on the live-action Mass Effect series, and this was his response:

“Very much so, yeah, all depending on how they’re executing it. The world of adaptation can be heavy or light. When I like a product, I prefer the adaptation to be less changed from the source, so it all depends.”

Cavill followed up his response by asking if the project has found a platform for its production, to which if it has, he suggested he would like to have a conversation with the creatives in charge about a potential part in the project. He also brought up how he loved the original trilogy of Mass Effect games and thinks that they would be great material to adapt into a film or series. Henry Cavill has made it well known the affinity he has for geek hobbies like video games, building PCs, and Warhammer, so he would be the perfect addition to a potential Mass Effect series as live-action Commander Shepherd, or heck, even Garrus. However we can get him, we’ll take him!
