Hatoful Boyfriend Designer Reveals New Murder Mystery Game (VIDEO)
Hatoful Boyfriend was a bizarre title that saw players in the role of the only human at an elite school designed for birds. Still, the game was quite well received and now the Mediatonic is looking to bring more bizarre adventure to fans as well as some choice characters from designer, Hato Moa.
Set in Los Angeles during 1996, Murder By Numbers will rely heavily on the use of Picross, a style of logic puzzle that requires players to fill in spaces or leave them blank based upon information given through a series of numbers that will let them uncover clues throughout the game. Fans will be taking on the role of Honor Mizrahi, an actress who finds her former boss dead and later teams up with a discarded reconnaissance robot to solve the mystery surrounding the aforementioned boss’ murder.
Hato Moa has crafted yet another collection of quirky and unique characters for the game. Paired with a colorful art style, the game will take players across “TV studios, glitzy award shows, drag clubs, and more” all the while set to the soundtrack of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney composer, Masakazu Sugimori. There’s sure to be a lot in store for players, from 90’s fashion choices, rad tunes, and a whole lot of sass.
Murder By Numbers doesn’t have a release date quite yet but is expected to arrive on Steam and the Nintendo Switch sometime early next year.
