Pokemon Shield's New Galarian Ponyta Form Details Revealed

With Pokemon Sword and Shield just over a month away from release, The Pokemon Company is pulling all the stops to entice as many gamers as possible towards the newest generation of Pokémon. One of the biggest new series of additions in these new games that has attracted many online has been the new Galarian forms of Pokémon. Like the Galarian forms of Weezing and Farfetch’d, the recently revealed Galarian Ponyta form created a spark among Internet fans, especially of the fan art and meme-making variety. Now, The Pokemon Company has provided new details about the new Galarian variant of Ponyta.

As seen on Twitter, the Pokémon Company recently revealed new details about Galarian Ponyta in Famitsu Magazine in Japan. According to the magazine, the Galarian Ponyta is a pure Psychic type Pokemon. It will mostly have the same abilities as normal Ponyta, except this version will have the ability Pastel Veil which prevents Ponyta and any ally from being poisoned. It will also have the Run Away ability to run away from any battle.

The big detail revealed about Galarian Ponyta is that it will be a Pokemon Shield exclusive, quite similar to how SirFetch’d was recently confirmed to be a Pokemon Sword exclusive. However, it will still be possible for Shield players to have a Galarian Ponyta traded to them by a player that uses Pokémon Sword. These are some interesting new tidbits about the new Ponyta variant, and will surely have fans of the original 151 Pokemon preparing to have their horses in the back.
