One Halo 5 Multiplayer Playlist is Being Removed From the Game This Week
In 343’s latest weekly blog post, it was announced that the Halo 5 Multiplayer playlist Team Skirmish would be removed from matchmaking on August 3rd. According to the developer, the reason behind the playlist’s removal is that it just isn’t being played. The lack of play has also had a negative effect on the Team Arena and HCS playlists, which have the gamemode in them. 343 has explained that they will be removing the gamemode and playlist altogether and have no intention, at this time, of bringing it back.
It’s never fun to take away something that players (even if it’s a relatively small group) have become accustomed to and it’s not something the team takes lightly, but sometimes it’s unavoidable. That being said, the sustain team will continue to evaluate and look for opportunities to integrate some of the maps and modes that were unique to Team Skirmish into other playlists.”
The developers of Halo 5 are dedicated to continuously monitoring the game and its overall health. As the trends of players change, the game may need to change, as well. If you were a fan of the gamemode there is a chance it may come back if the likes and dislikes of players change in the future but for now Halo fans will have to contend with the removal of the playlist.
It may not have been a popular playlist these days but does that require it to be removed for good? Let us know your thoughts on the removal of Skirmish and more in the comments section below.
