Fortnite: Teaser Revealed For Season 5
This weekend is the commencement of the fifth season for Fortnite. Beginning July 12th, new content awaits players around the globe and a new image has surfaced from the masterminds behind the game. Epic Games doesn’t shy away from themes and mystery, but what could the illustration hint at? A nod at traditional Japanese folklore and history, or perhaps an idea more sinister?

Foxes are traditionally known in Japanese culture as an icon of both cunning and altruistic behavior depending on the circumstances. Nonetheless, they’re recognized as intelligent creatures in respective folklore and are believed to hold supernatural abilities. They can bring about great fortune or hardships, luck or misfortune. Whether Fortnite’s teaser image has anything to do with the actual symbolism stands to be seen!
Knowing Epic Games, the fox mask likely depicts a cosmetic item that will be available in the in-game store during season 5. As for season four, the main theme surrounded superheroes and their villainous counterparts. Toward the end of the season, the viral rocket launch live event took down a secret hideout, which resulted in several dimensional rifts opening up around Fortnite. Sections of the map crumbled and disappeared into these rifts and in their stead are mysterious and unexplained items such as an anchor, and a carriage.
Perhaps an epic mash-up of different dimensions are in the plans? Will malevolent creatures invade Fortnite? Hopefully Epic Games will reveal other teasers that will reveal more of their intentions for season 5!
