Fortnite: Giant Mystery Cube Is Now Moving (VIDEO)

Fortnite

The Tesseract has awakened! Well, sort of. Following a both figurative and literal shocking development in Fortnite, a rift-induced lightning storm gave birth to a huge glowing cube, with little to suggest its intended purpose in the world. Players’ fascination with the purple monstrosity has led to numerous encounters with the otherworldly structure, with eventual attempts to destroy the object proving fruitless and often fatal.

With all eyes on the mystery cube, it wouldn’t be long before even the slightest happening became widely known. It turns out that’s exactly what happened over the past day, as players witnessed the object make a small movement across the map. The video below shows the cube decisively tip over on its side before returning to an inert state.

This short moment could be telling of an eventual destination for the cube, but the relatively small amount of movement may mean that it won’t be reached any time soon. Or, perhaps maybe it will! A few hours after this first bout of flipping, the cube decided to take another step forward, catching surrounding players by surprise yet again.

What is the deal with this cube? Fortnite players are asking themselves that same question. While entertaining explanations such as the cube’s resemblance to Marvel’s Tesseract, a Nintendo Gamecube, or a big game of cosmic Yahtzee exist, Epic Games still remains quiet about what’s actually going on. Until that day comes, fans will likely continue to roll the die guessing in the meantime. Fortnite is now available on Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.

What do you think? Are you completely confused by the presence of this cube, or has the Borg finally arrived from the Star Trek universe?
