Diablo: Netflix Reportedly Working On New TV Series With Blizzard

Netflix is in the business of taking risks whether it be canceling fan-favorite shows or moving forward with ideas created from video game influence with the likes of Castlevania. For both anime and fans of the latter series, it was a wild success on Netflix and hailed a second season. As a matter of fact, there’s a third season in development too. Following a recent trend in video game adaptations as of late, rumor has it that Netflix and Blizzard are working together for a Diablo TV series with Hellboy writer, Andrew Cosby.

Based on a surprise report from Revenge of the Fans, Cosby is working on the Hellboy remake, but he’s also been selected to assume the same role for a Netflix adaptation of the Diablo series. Known for his work on the science-fiction series Eureka (2006), his work and reputation remain relatively demure. That is until now. With a titan of a video game development company such as Blizzard mixing it up with Netflix, Cosby is well on his way to making an even bigger name for himself.

As for the Diablo series itself, there are no further details on that front. RTF reports that it is likely to keep its animated roots. If this reveals to be true, here’s to hoping the production and direction realizes the franchise to its fullest potential. In other words, keep it as gory, enchanting, and visceral as the source material. That’s all fans can hope for anyway.
