Castlevania Season 2 Highlights Hinted At By Showrunner Adi Shankar

Castlevania

The first season of the Castlevania anime series on Netflix came as a bit of a surprise, both in its existence and its above-average quality for non-interactive adaptations of video game franchises. However, the short four-episode first season only left fans desperate for more of this iteration of Trevor Belmont’s monster hunting escapades. The series proved to be enough of a success for Netflix to order not just a second season, but apparently a third as well. Now the series showrunner has provided a preview of what he believes to be the Castlevania Season 2 highlights, ahead of its release.

Series showrunner Adi Shankar recently spoke with Comicbook.com about the upcoming second season of the Netflix Castlevania anime series. In regards to the new season, Shankar claims his main focus was improving on the visual spectacle aspect of the show. While he doesn’t reveal any details about big action sequences or new locales to dazzle the eyes, he does confirm that both Carmilla and Hector will be present in the new season.

When asked if he has any idea on how many seasons he intends for the series’ story arc to last for, Shankar claimed to not have a set number yet, only that Castlevania is meant to be built upon. Shankar also states that “I just kind of like move on from things,” so we could possibly see another showrunner take over at some point before the series ends. Hopefully fans get many more episodes of Castlevania before that day comes, considering that the consensus is that the war against Dracula has been in good hands so far.
