Castlevania Season 3 In The Works For Netflix, Says Voice Actor

Castlevania Season 3

As many of Netflix’s first original programs are nearing their final seasons, the streaming service is looking to its newer exclusive shows to boost demand for the service. One success story that Netflix celebrated heavily last year was the debut season of their Castlevania anime series. The first four episodes of the animated adaptation of the classic Konami video games were well received by audiences and critics, and earned a second season for the show even before the first season premiered. Now, one of the show’s voice actors has stated that Castlevania Season 3 is indeed in the works for Netflix.

Richard Armitage, the voice actor portraying Trevor Belmont in the animated series, recently spoke with Digital Spy about the Castlevania Netflix program. According to Armitage, Castlevania Season 3 will soon begin production, despite there being no official announcement of a third season from Netflix. As he states, “The second season hasn’t been aired yet, but we’re about to do a third.” Netflix attempted to receive confirmation of the third season from Netflix upon the comments from Armitage, but received no reply.

Armitage also provides a preview about what fans can expect from season 3. “The son of Dracula and my character get much more collaborative. I think that’s one of the most exciting things, they start to really work together”, says Armitage. A live-action film would seemingly be considered by Armitage, as he says he quite likes the blending of eras in the series. As he says, “I feel like it would make the most brilliant live-action piece. It’s slightly anarchic and humorous – we don’t often see vampire heroics in that vein. One day, maybe.” While it seems odd for Armitage to reveal this before Netflix, fans of the adaptation are surely going to find this news quite off the chain.
