Destiny 2 Raid Themes Have Been Teased by Game Director

Destiny 2 Raid Themes

Destiny 2 will be vastly improved upon from its previous game bringing with it things like a new clan system and new matchmaking option. One of the most iconic parts to the game however are raids and one particular part about them will not change. While not always perfect, each of the four raids of the first game had a unique theme, or in other words, specific setups the developers wished for players to experience. According to the game’s director, there will be Destiny 2 raid themes as well, bringing with them new exciting content for fans to enjoy.

There isn’t all that much to go on, however during an interview Luke Smith, the Destiny 2 director, explained that each raid from the previous game has a heartbeat, something that makes each one memorable in its own right. The intention of the Vault of Glass was to split players up and bring them back together whereas Crota’s End created heroic moments such as taking the sword to defeat Crota himself. King’s Fall was fairly simple in concept, forcing players to traverse and navigate a large space. Lastly, the Wrath of the Machine raid focused on the action of gameplay and bringing players “glorious combat”. It’s still unclear what the Destiny 2 raid themes will be however they will be there according to Smith. He did hint at the first raid’s theme, which has yet to be named:

Raid 5, when we looked at it, it was about building a place you believe is real. That was our priority. A place that you believe could exist. It’s unlike anything we’ve done. The team is incredibly talented; it is a joy to see them work.”

So what exactly does that mean for players? You can pre-load Destiny 2 starting September 3rd with the game releasing on September 6th on Xbox One and PS4, and October for PC.  Let us know your thoughts about Destiny 2 raid themes and more in the comments section below.
