Destiny 2 Leviathan Boss Taken Down With Only Two Players (VIDEO)
The incredibly talented duo of Slayerage and Epicookiez from TheLegendHimself clan took on the Destiny 2 Leviathan boss and walked away with an astounding victory. Normally it takes a full raid team to accomplish the feat of taking down Calus, however with the help of a few sneaky tricks they were able to accomplish the feat in a matter of minutes. To accomplish this, the team needed good teamwork, a lot of strategy, and a great understanding of the boss’ mechanics.
With a full raid team, players in the shadow realm are tasked with killing psions that spawn in order to activate a skulls phase and callout symbols to their comrades back out in the throne room to activate barriers for the shadow realm team. Slayerage and Epicookiez were able to bypass this by utilizing a “sneaky spot” as they call it, which is a special protective spot that holds them from being sucked into Calus’ mouth and allows them to ignore the need to callout symbols altogether. This left only the need to kill the psions inside the shadow realm.
Once the psions are killed, skulls in the shadow realm begin to come out and randomly target players inside. With only one person to lock onto, they become much easier to destroy allowing the two man team to gain a lot of stacks very quickly. Back in the throne room, Calus’ shields need to be dropped in order to open a way back from the shadow realm. Once the two reunited, they stood on each platform and damaged Calus as can be seen in the video, which requires a very high Power level and the right gear to do the damage to the Destiny 2 Leviathan boss.
This was actually easier than three manning, funny enough. The normal mechanics of the fight are still possible with three people, but once you get down to two, it’s either fight insane RNG or use the sneaky sneaky spot Cookiez is in. Wouldn’t have been able to do this, especially not so soon, if not for the fact that it was brought to my attention by Adnan Özsarigöl’s comment on the 3 man video that this spot exists.
Both Slayerage and Epicookiez are both very high level in both Power and skill. giving them the opportunity to accomplish the feat of killing Calus with two people. They’ve made significant accomplishments for multiple parts of the raid already, including a two man run of the raid’s Pleasure Gardens. One can only imagine what they’ll do next, perhaps they’ll be trying for world first to beat the Raid’s upcoming challenge modes.
