Gamers have many goals when they play, some play to reach the highest level and others to get the best gear. Another goal that is sought out by many is achievement/trophy hunting. These players work tirelessly to unlock the different accolades on each title they play to show how dedicated they are. PlayStation displays these achievements as trophies that are earned. Platinum trophies are worth the most amount of points and the hardest to obtain. For those who seek out this strenuous task, Sony has announced an event in which they will reward real-life platinum trophies to select winners.

Not much is required to participate in this competition. The most important part of the competition is sharing the accomplishment of earning an in-game platinum trophy on social media and tagging PlayStation Austrailia account in the Facebook or Twitter post. Keep in mind, this is only for limited titles and during a certain competition period.

Check out the official rules stated by PlayStation:

1. Play during the competition period
   1. Certain competition periods will be listed for titles eligible for the Real-Life Platinum Trophies
2. Earn a platinum trophy in game
   1. Complete and unlock all trophies for the title including the Platinum Trophy
3. Share a screenshot showing off the earned Platinum Trophy
   1. Utilizing the PS4 share functionality, share a screenshot of the earned Platinum Trophy on either Twitter or Facebook:
      1. Twitter instructions:
         1. Press the Share button
         2. Choose the screenshot featuring the Platinum Trophy
         3. Click on the Twitter icon and upload the screenshot including the #PlusPlatinumHunters and tag @PlayStationAU in the comments and share
            1. NOTE: Gamers will need to have their SEN account linked to their Twitter account to complete this.
      2. Facebook instructions:
         1. Press the Share button
         2. Choose the screenshot featuring the Platinum Trophy
         3. Click on the Facebook icon and upload the screenshot and share
            1. NOTE: Gamers will need to have their SEN account linked to their Facebook account to complete this.
         4. After the screenshot is uploaded, find the clip on your timeline and be sure to edit the post so that it is public.

Once competition period has ended, Sony will choose one winner per title.The titles that have been announced for the Platinum Hunters event is FIFA 18, Gran Turismo Sport, and Call of Duty WWII. A fourth title expected to join the ranks of Platinum Hunters eligible titles, but is not known at the time this article was written.
