Destiny 2 Iron Banner Returns To D1’s Former Glory With Upcoming Changes

Destiny 2 has seen a huge loss of its playerbase since its release but as 2018 continues on, the team at Bungie remains dedicated to making things right for their fans. Many of the changes coming revolve around features that Destiny veterans from the first game loved but didn’t find their way into the sequel. As the Destiny 2 Iron Banner returns, a new official Bungie blog update outlines changes being made to the upcoming event mode. The outlined changes will make those that enjoyed the first game’s Iron Banner very happy.

The Iron Banner this time around will feature the game mode Clash. As for rewards, players will work towards obtaining three different weapons that are purchase-able directly from Lord Saladin himself, which can be seen above. All progress towards challenges for ornaments from the last event carry over making it easier for players to get those last few pieces. When the Iron Banner returns to Destiny 2 it will “will channel that old-school Crucible in the style of the Iron Lords” by making increasing the amount of players to 6 person teams among various other changes.

  • Match time limit is 12 minutes
  • Score limit is 125 points
  • Respawn time is 7 seconds
  • All control zones start off neutral
  • Control zones take slightly longer to capture by default
  • Additional Guardians (max of 3) in a zone increases capture speed
  • Guardians participating in a capture get more Super energy

Not only does the blog update cover the upcoming Iron Banner, but also changes being made to the Crucible as well such as a Weekly Featured Playlist which will include modes that don’t fit into the existing Quick play or Competitive playlists.

The Destiny 2 Iron Banner returns beginning March 6th and will run through until March 13th. Are these changes too little too late or could Destiny 2 make a major comeback?
