CD Projekt RED Makes Major Donation In Response To COVID-19 Spread
COVID-19 has been hard on many people around the globe but that hasn’t stopped people from coming together to provide help however they can. Still, people have had no problem sending their support for others in these trying times by creating masks for hospital use, donating money to various charities, and more. Some companies have also stepped up to do their part such as CD Projekt RED who recently made a massive donation to help combat the worldwide epidemic.
A recent post on LinkedIn (H/T Game Rant) from CEO and co-founder of CD Projekt RED Marcin Iwinski announced the company’s donation to a medical charity called Fundacja Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy. The post details that CD Projekt has given a total of 2 million PLN (just over $487,000 USD) to the charity, with the company’s Board of Directors and major shareholders matching the amount for an equivalent of just under 1 million US dollars. Iwisnki further thanked the brave souls combatting COVID-19 and hoped the donated funds help in the effort to cleanse the world from the epidemic.
Collaborating with Fundacja Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy, an established Polish NGO with over 20 years of medical equipment fundraising history, today we donated a sum of 4 million PLN to combat the spread of COVID-19 in Poland. The company’s Board of Directors and major shareholders donated 2 million PLN, with another 2 million PLN donated by the company itself. We’d like to thank all the brave souls who fight for our well-being every day and hope these funds help in your effort to rid us of the virus.”
